How to play FLAC files on iPhone
Short answer
Newer iPhones can open some FLAC files in the Files app, but not in a library you can browse, and formats like OGG and MKA often don't play at all. Import the files into MaxVault and tap to play: its player handles FLAC, OGG, MKA and more, with repeat, shuffle and playback speed, and a Mini Player that keeps going while you browse.
Get the files onto your iPhone
- From a computer: in MaxVault tap + → WiFi Transfer and upload the files from your computer's web browser. See transferring files over Wi-Fi.
- From Files or the cloud: tap + → Import from Files, or turn on iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive in Settings → File Manager → Show Folders.
- As a ZIP: albums often arrive zipped. Import the ZIP and choose Unzip. See how to unzip files on iPhone.
Play them
Tap a track to play it. From the player you can:
- Repeat a track or the folder, or Shuffle it
- Change the playback speed
- Send audio to a speaker or TV with AirPlay
- Shrink to the Mini Player and keep listening while you browse your vault
Organize an album
Put each album in its own folder, arrange tracks by hand with More → Order, and change the folder's cover so it's easy to spot.
Supported audio formats include FLAC, MKA, OGG, AMR, AU, DTS, MPC, MP3, M4A and WAV. See the full list on the Media Player page.
